Sophe Sligh, Miss Metro 2022, will join us this Thursday, December 2nd for our lunch meeting at Luigi's. Bryant Rotary welcomes any guests to attend and hear her story. Meeting starts at 12:00 pm.
Sophe Sligh is a native of Hot Springs, AR where she graduated as an International Baccalaureate Candidate and Salutatorian from the Hot Springs School District in 2017. She spent the next 4 years pursuing a degree in nursing at Arkansas Tech University. Throughout her time at Tech, she was a member of Sigma Theta Tau, or the International Honor Society of Nursing; a weekly volunteer mentor with the Wesley Foundation; and a Cum Laude Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing graduate. She also began her journey within the Miss America Organization by competing in her first preliminary pageant to Miss Arkansas at Miss Arkansas Tech University in 2020, receiving first runner up. This amazing experience sparked a new interest and she went on to compete in Miss Sweetheart of Arkansas, where she took home the title and an opportunity to compete at Miss Arkansas 2021.
This past June, she was a Top 15 Semi-Finalist, receiving newcomer awards for Private Interview and Talent, where she played the Devil Went Down to Georgia on the violin. She also received a preliminary award for On Stage Question/Social Impact Statement. Her current Social Impact for the Miss America Organization is, “Live Smart for a Healthy Heart.” While representing this platform, she has done advocacy work for the American Heart Association by serving as an American Heart Association Sweetheart and being a member of the Youth Advisory Group for Tobacco Endgame. She is continuing her advocacy for the AHA everyday as a Registered Nurse at Arkansas Children’s Hospital and serving as Miss Metro where she will represent that title at Miss Arkansas in June 2022.
